It was meant to be the job opportunity of a life time.

It turned out to be so much more…

At the age of twenty five, Emma Lexington takes off to New York on a once in a life time twelve-month job exchange with the New York Warriors. Determined to make the most of the opportunity, she prepares herself for life in the big apple—fast paced, exciting and a whole lot of fun. What she hasn’t prepare for though, is meeting him.

The charming Will Jensen is in the prime of his playing career. As the star quarterback for the Warriors, his carefree, football centric life is thrown into disarray when he meets Emma, the beautiful, easy going Australian girl who joins the Warriors staff.

Unwilling to throw her professional reputation away on a fling with the playboy quarterback, Emma turns down Will’s advances, even though she can’t deny the attraction she feels for him. Their pull toward one another grows, but it takes a near disaster for Emma to finally give Will a chance.

Getting together might have been hard, but figuring out how to stay together will prove even more challenging as Emma must decide between conflicting loyalties.

Lexington and 42nd is a fun, sexy romance, set in the exciting world of the NFL in the fabulous city of New York.

Kim Carmody Bio:

Kim Carmody Headshot 1

Kim Carmody lives in Australia with her husband, in a sunny little part of Melbourne that she never wants to leave. Except for frequent trips to New York, she is happy to leave at least once a year for those.

She holds a Masters in Commerce Marketing and while she spent her younger years training to become a professional dancer, she somehow ended up working in the sports industry, where she met her now husband. Never a participant or spectator of sport growing up (she was too busy flitting around in a tutu), she has grown to appreciate, if not love many sports and eventually found herself writing about them too.

As an avid book lover from the moment she was introduced to The Babysitters Club as a seven year-old, Kim never expected to be able to call herself an author, but is beyond excited that she now can.

Lexington and 42nd is her first novel.

Lexington and 42nd
Kim Carmody

This is a fun and entertaining romance that I really enjoyed reading! Emma has just been given the job opportunity of a lifetime when she’s offered a one year position swap where she gets to leave Australia and head to New York to be a part of a successful team that manages NFL teams. Emma is thrilled at the chance she’s being offered and knows that this is an experience that many would give anything for and she’s committed to doing whatever it takes to make the best of this opportunity. From day one on the job she’s warned by her new co-workers that there’s a certain smooth charmer who happens to be the quarterback for the team the Warriors that she’s working for who is able to charm the pants, or skirt off of any female of his choosing. Emma decides right then and there that she’s going to stay as far away as possible from this player since she’s been warned that messing around with him could cause her to be sent packing and on a plane headed back home immediately. Too bad that fate has other plans in store for her and things definitely don’t go at all as planned. A pretty entertaining, and admittedly embarrassing situation occurs at Emma’s very first event with the team and she knows she’s in BIG trouble when it comes to this sexy star football player that everyone is going crazy over.

From the second Emma and Will meet it’s a constant struggle for them both to keep their hands off of each other and Will is relentless in his pursuit of her. Emma is afraid for her career and is extremely worried about everyone coming to the conclusion that something is going on between the two of them. Even when things are strictly professional and nothing is actually going on, Emma is very obviously torn between what she feels she should do and what her body and even a little bit of her heart are both staring to want very badly. I loved the interactions between Will and Emma and how they were constantly going from fun and flirty one moment to hot and out of control passionate the next. As this story progressed the frustration level became more than obvious for both of them and it was driving me nuts just reading about it. I wanted her to just sleep with him already and am surprised at how resilient she was with such a sexy man constantly making his intentions more than clear. There is absolutely no way that I would have lasted as long as she did. From the moment these two met each other I wanted them to be together so badly and it was killing me to watch Emma struggle with the decision of what she should do. While I could totally understand her concern over losing a career she had worked so hard at establishing for herself, I also didn’t want her to miss out on what could possibly be one of the best things to happen to her with Will. Overall, this is a great love story and I really enjoyed reading this. I definitely learned a lot about football that I didn’t know before and in a way that made it interesting as well. I highly recommend reading this to anyone, especially those who have an interest in super sexy sport romances.
