This is an intriguing look into the world of vampires and an interesting perspective on how they’ve continued to thrive for so long and I enjoyed reading this! Charlie is a modern and independent woman who doesn’t need or want to rely on anyone in order to survive. In a twisted turn of events she comes to discover that she’s the fated bride of a certain vampire who doesn’t plan on taking no for an answer. Maxwell has been a vampire for a long time and has a dark past filled with many secrets he’s not proud of and he’s making an effort to be someone else in order to be with Charlie. After weeks of watching her from afar Maxwell has decided it’s time to make his move and claim what’s rightfully his. What he doesn’t understand, is that he’s in for the fight of his life since Charlie is a woman unlike any he’s ever met before and doesn’t plan on going willingly. This entire story is extremely entertaining to read and I absolutely loved Charlie’s character and how she isn’t afraid to speak her mind whenever necessary. She makes it very clear from the moment they meet that she’s not some pushover that’s going to go along with what he wants simply because he says so. Watching the interactions between these two was so hilarious at points that I couldn’t stop laughing and I even felt a bit sorry for poor Maxwell at times.

Maxwell is a vampire that requires the blood of a descendent of a particular blood line in order to survive and Charlie is the one that he needs. He wants nothing more than for things to go smoothly when he comes to claim her, but it becomes obvious right away that this is not going to be the case. Charlie is much too strong willed and independent to just go willingly with him and she’s sure going to make him work for it. I can definitely understand where Charlie’s coming from here since I can’t honestly imagine any scenario where a strange man comes into a woman’s life and tells her vampires exist and hey by the way you belong to me and it goes smoothly for them. I mean really? This is definitely a relationship that doesn’t get off to an easy or graceful start and I loved reading this. I recommend this to anyone to read, especially those who have an interest in vampire stories.
