Zoe Forward is a hopeless romantic who can’t decide between paranormal and contemporary romance. So, she writes both. In addition to being a mom to one rambunctious kindergartener and wife to a conservation ecologist who plans to save all the big cats on the planet, she’s a small animal veterinarian caring for all the small furries, although there is the occasional hermit crab.

When she’s not typing at her laptop she’s tying on a karate belt for her son or cleaning up the newest pet mess from the menagerie that occupies her house. She’s madly in love with her globe trotting husband of ten years and happiest when he returns to their home base in North Carolina.

This is a highly intense and thoroughly enjoyable paranormal story full of magic and lots of twists and turns and I loved reading this! Jennifer is a Pleiades witch who has recently performed a spell in an effort to find the one she’s meant to be with forever. She’s become convinced that the man for her is the host of the incredibly popular television show Extreme Survivor and she’s bound and determined to do whatever it takes to get her butt on that television show and prove herself to her destined. There are a bunch of strange things taking place right off the bat here however, and things just get stranger as this story progresses. For instance, the man created specifically for Jen and the one she’s meant to be with places specifications on their being together that she try out for his television show first? Excuse me? That’s just the tip of the iceberg here and things quickly progress into weirdville and keep on getting stranger by the minute in this story and I absolutely loved it! There’s definitely some pretty dark forces working against Jen and she’s got a battle on her hands for sure. The good news is that she’s not alone in this. Super sexy former Russian spy Nikolai is along for the ride and right by her side through every twist and turn they have coming and things are smoking hot between these two right from the start! While Jen’s convinced that Owen is her soulmate, Nikolai is just as positive that he’s the one she’s meant to be with and he intends on proving it to her and is going to do whatever it takes to do so.

There’s just something about Jen’s character that I couldn’t get enough of. She has a sarcastic sense of humor and the interactions between her and Nikolai were highly entertaining and at points hilarious. The part during the auditions for the television show where she’s forced to wear a pretty revealing bathing suit and refers to it as a bandana and an eye patch had me rolling and that’s just one of many parts that I loved. She’s full of sass and spunk and I love her and Nikolai together. The chemistry between these two is off the charts explosive and they literally set off sparks when they’re together. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone and look forward to reading to reading much more from her in the future!
