Holy hotness!!  I think I might need a cold shower after this one!  The Slam is a great book that combines a whole lot of serious with the right amount of sexy and sweet.
Ender and Adelaide have been friends most of their lives.  While Ender and his brother Edric have lived a fairly normal life of privilege and wealth, Adelaide has had a rough start that included drug addicted parents and a disability.  When Adelaide leaves home to attend the same college as Ender and Edric she is thrust into a world that she struggles to understand.  When Ender agrees to help her navigate her new life he starts to see her in a whole new light.  She is no longer the little girl he remembers, Adelaide has become a woman.
Adelaide's disability is so well written that it is sometimes hard to read.  But it is also the reason I couldn't put this book down.  Her honesty, although unintentional, is refreshing.  She adds humor and sass to an already great story.  And, Ender!!  What do we say about Ender?  The man is sexy and sweet.  He's kind and brooding.  He will definitely have you swooning!!  All in all it was a great read.  Certainly unlike anything else I've read.
