drink, you neglect your health, and you rent dirty hotel rooms with the sole purpose
of ending your pain in them. Guilt eats at you for not being at the one place
you were needed the most. And you become angry because you were left behind.

She’s making me forget the pain and bringing color back into my life with her
fiery red hair, bright green eyes, and the silly faces she makes at herself in
the mirror. But what happens if I let her in? Could I be brave enough to open
myself up, knowing the possibility of having it snatched away again. Once I
know the feeling of touching Chris, of having her heart and soul blend with
mine, I would never survive losing that.
Can I take the chance of her being my savior, even knowing
that she could also be the one that could push me other the edge of

Holy hell, this story gutted me! I strongly encourage you to read in order. Each book is of a different couple/or characters.
The first book- Shatter Me. I was so haunted by this story. Bailey's story was of the utmost horrific things a person could be dealt to by someone that claims to "love you". And then comes along Jaxson.
Book 2 & 3 were just as good but didn't gut me like Shatter Me & book 4- Awaken Me.
Nick Daniels- He is a very angry, heartbroken soul. 2 years ago (Must read Shatter Me to know what happened) he lost his heart. He wasn't there for a certain someone and won't go through this again. But he can't get past his daily nightmares where he relives what happened.
Christabelle "Chris" Matthews- She can see the pain Nick is going through and only wants to be there for him but in doing this she knows she has started to fall for him. She doesn't know why she wants him, he has only ever been a mean, angry, hateful drunk towards her. Every time she looks at him, she only sees hatred. Why does she punish herself? So you can imagine when all of Nick's friends intervene to help him since he won't help himself. And Chris is the one offering to stay with Nick to help him through this, I mean she isn't a counselor for nothing, Okay, so she works at a school. Still, a counselor is a counselor right?
It took some time for my eyes to dry up so I could write this review. It has been a long time since I have blubbered like a freaking baby, and I loved it. I have a true love/hate relationship with Nick.
Don't pass up this series! I know this is a series I will be reading again!
Great ending to a series Alex!! Can't wait to see what you after this series.
