Synopsis:

Hadley saved my life . . . and I ruined hers

Hadley’s my best friend. We share a house, our friends, a life. She knows all my secrets . . . except one. My desperate need for her is inked on my body, it’s the best I can do. But Hadley needs to hear the words . . .

Growing up as foster kids, Hadley made me feel whole-sane. And what did I do? I destroyed our chance to be together. I ran out on Hadley when I should have stayed, and something broke between us. Now I’ll do anything to fix it.

I’ll never leave her again. I won’t ever let her feel afraid again. But the more I try to protect her from my pain, the more I just make things worse. I’m terrified that if I tell her everything, she’ll never forgive me. I’m even more terrified that it may be too late to make her mine. I have to try to give her what she needs . . . it’s a debt I’m determined to repay.

The Debt
Tyler King

How do you make amends for the single biggest mistake of your life?

What if the way to fix it is to ignore it?
What if the only way she will be ok is without you?
How do you separate your needs and wants from hers?

Josh has to live with his mistake.  Everyday he is reminded of his failure.  The guilty eats away at him. He needs her but he knows he's not good enough.  He knows there is no way to fix his mistake. So what should he do...
Should he allow Hadley to move on?
Should he move away?
Can he handle watching her move on?
There are so many questions swirling around Josh's head, but he never stopped to ask the right one.  What does Hadley want?
I enjoyed reading about Josh and Hadley.  Two people who have had very difficult lives. People would use the term broken, but i think they just got a little bent.  Both of them are trying in their own ways to overcome- well, survive daily.  They need each other to overcome.  I really appreciate that they weren't miraculously healed by their love. So many stories think that issues just float away with love or really great sex... It's refreshing when authors use a bit more reality in their stories. I think that Hadley's letter to Josh couldn't have come at a better time.
Its a beautiful story of bent people trying to straighten out. oh, and you will need tissues!
