I'm not sure whether I am more in love with Kelley or his need to chase butterflies!
Lenora is stuck in a life that doesn't give her choices.
Kelley is stuck in a life of miserable abuse.
Lenny has always longed for the butterflies her mother told her about.  She doesn't get them with her boyfriend.  Really, she doesn't even like him.  She is forced to play a role her parents forced on her.
Kelley's life isn't the same as Lenny's.  No but he understands the role your forced to play.  He just doesn't she hers.  Kelley is forced to take the beats his father dishes out.  He does it for his mother.
Life hasn't been kind to these two.  They weren't kind to each other.  But when they let their guards down the butterflies soared. It seems as though life is against them because as the saying goes "what goes up must come down."  So soar they did, until life clipped their wings.
Years later they aren't the same people.  They want very different things, but still they chase thebutterflies.
Its a very sweet tale of a second chance that never should have been broken the first time.  Hope was decimated and life went on but pieces of that hope were still there- otherwise, they never would have gotten past hi.
