USA TODAY BESTSELLING authors, Terri E. Laine and A.M. Hargrove bring a new full-length standalone, Contemporary Romance novel.

Since I was a boy, my desire was to marry the church. To give my vows and life over to God despite the corruption in my soul.

I am a sinner, the embodiment of temptation, or so I’ve been told.

Yet, I’ve never touched, never kissed, never sought the company of another until her.

She is my weakness, my salvation, my downfall and my freedom. Our sins are bound tighter than fate.

My name is Canaan. I am an ordained Roman Catholic priest, forever and always.

Her name is Haven. She may be my destiny, my destruction.

This is not a love story, but rather a confession of all my sins.

Warning – A Beautiful Sin is a forbidden romance that blurs lines between passion and religious faith. Please be warned, the subject matter may be offensive to some readers.

A Beautiful Sin

I'm gonna be honest here.  I was attracted to this story because of the taboo story line.  I love taboo and I love forbidden romance.  The story I got wasn't what I expected at all.  It was better!!  It's a story about two people who each survive their own tragedy but, learn to forgive and in the end learn to love.
Canaan is betrayed by last person he would expect.  His trust shattered, he puts all the love he has into the church and his dream of becoming a priest.  But what happens when your dreams change?  How can you be sure that the decisions you make are the right ones?  What if the one thing you thought you loved above everything else turns out to be the one thing keeping you from really living?  Is it ok to change your mind?
Haven has had survived a childhood full of tragedy and heartbreak.  Against all odds she manages to leave the town that holds so many of her bad memories in search of a new beginning.  As the emotional scars left behind begin to heal, she becomes a successful independent woman.  But when her career takes her back to her hometown she's forced to face the past and all the people there.  Even the one person that turned her away when she needed help all those years ago.
Once I started this book I couldn't put it down.  It took me on an emotional roller coaster that had me laughing and crying.  These two characters are so conflicted and their journey is so long that I really felt their pain.  I found myself asking "what would I do?".  Of course, I'm not a priest so I can't even begin to understand the internal struggle.  But I did feel an emotional pull towards Canaan and my heart broke for him.
This is a beautifully written story about two broken people who face their demons so that the can get redemption from a past that was unforgiving.  But it's also super sexy!!  Canaan may be a priest but he is 100% man!!  It may take a while to get there but in the end we get some pretty steamy scenes and a fantastic ending for Haven and Canaan.  There are a lot of religious references but I think it's needed to really understand these two characters.  All in all it was a fantastic read with an epilogue that perfectly completed the journey!
