This is an incredibly well written and highly addictive story that I literally couldn’t put down! I’ve read a couple books by this author in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed everything written by her and this is by far my new personal favorite for sure! Kaden Barnes has some serious trust issues when it comes to women, with good reason, that were started by his cold and unfeeling mother abandoning him when he was young. He was deemed a problem child due to issues that were not his fault in any way and that he had absolutely no control over and it broke my heart when Kade described how she treated him like a disappointment over all this. His mother’s cruelty has of course carried into Kade’s adult life and causes him to keep everyone in his life at a safe distance away to keep from getting hurt again. Lexi has quite a few personal issues going on in her own life that have been getting in the way of any chance of her finding happiness and she doesn’t back down when things get tough. In fact, from reading this I can say that challenge brings out the best in her and she rises to each and every one. I admired her strength and loved the way she bulldozed her way right through all of Kade’s carefully constructed defenses and got right to the heart of him on the very first day! It was clear that these two were perfect for each other from the moment they met and I was rooting for them to end up together the entire time. I loved whenever Kade would try to push Lexi away and she’d give him a piece of her mind and didn’t back down. There’s so many times in my life I wish I’d have had the guts to do that and these were my favorite parts of this entire story for that very reason! I highly recommend this to anyone to read and it definitely left me with a huge smile on my face. I look forward to much more from this author in the future and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
