Yep! That about covers it. I'm a huge J.L. Berg fan and I loved everything about this book. It's got it all and so my emotions were kind of all over the place. Angst, drama, steam and romance. But I think it was the perfect story for Roman. There was no sugar coating. No pretending to be somebody he's not. He is exactly as I pictured and him to be, and more!! Sexy, sweet, possessive and romantic! Yes, he is a romantic!!
What would you do when you realized the one thing you thought you never wanted was just on the other side of the door? How far would you go to get it? With the odds stacked against you would you risk it all for love?
I loved Roman and Cara together. They are total opposites but perfect for each other. He's closed off, prickly and plays the role of jerk pretty well. All he needs is work, home and the occasional woman to warm his bed. She's sweet and wholesome. All she's ever dreamed of was the white picket fence, 2.5 kids and the dog in the back yard. But you know how it goes, right? Life throws us curve balls. Some call it fate, others call it dumb luck. Doesn't really matter what theory you subscribe to, it happens. The question for these two is what do you do with it? Will Cara stick around to see if she can break through Roman's shell? Will Roman fight for love or will he keep living his life Behind Closed Doors?
There were twists and turns and a big WTF? moment. Jude and Lailah make a few appearances and it was nice to see what they've been up to. I thought it was a great book and I couldn't put it down. The banter was light and funny and I loved how their journey ended. If you are new to J.L. Berg I hope you take a chance on this book. If you're not, why are you still reading this?
