We all have one.

A price.

That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.

Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.

What’s my tipping point, you ask? Apparently a cool quarter mil will do the trick.

What does one do for 250 large, you wonder? Anything the infamous, gorgeous playboy of Seattle wants. For the next four months I’ll be Shaw Mercer’s arm candy, his beck and call girl, his faux girlfriend. I’ll be his to command, mold, push and pull in any direction he sees fit.

I’ll fight falling into bed with him. I’ll fight falling in love with him even harder. I’ll fail at both. And when my past and present collide in the most unexpected of ways, I’ll learn that while one man’s love for me has never died, the only man’s love I really want will never be mine.

About the Author:

As a USA Today Bestselling author, I write stories that are deeply emotional with flawed characters, because humans ARE flawed and if we read about perfect characters living in their perfect world, first of all, snoozer, but secondly, we never experience the gratification of redemption.

Outside of writing, I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).

Lost In Between
KL Kreig

After reading Black Swan Affair by K.L. Kreig, I knew I would read every book she ever published. Her writing is phenomenal and all-consuming.  In Lost In Between we get a story about two people who need a means to an end. No commitments. Easy enough, right?

What is your magic number? The number that would guarantee you would do whatever anyone asks of you? For Willow Blackwell, that number was $250,000. What will that number cost her? Everything Shaw Mercer would demand from her for 4 months.

Shaw’s father asks him for a favor and he does not even think about refusing. He needs a fake girlfriend for the next four months to give him some breathing room from his family and help his father out. But Shaw is not a relationship sort of guy.  This needs to be temporary.

When Willow decides to take Shaw up on his offer, she is determined to keep this as a business transaction. She needs this. This will allow her breathing room from her obligations. She has never been completely comfortable being an escort, but it pays the bills. But she never crosses lines and intends to follow these rules with Sam as well.

But what happens when the lines start to become blurry? When they start to feel a connection that cannot be denied. The slow-burn romance between them was captivating. And add in some very likable side characters and some mystery and twists and you get a compelling story.

I loved Willow and Shaw. To very different people with vastly different backgrounds. Willow is strong and determined, but that comes from all she has endured and overcome. Life has not always been easy for her. And Shaw?  Well he is all man. At times, cocky and arrogant and others you see a very different side to him. One Willow starts to see. And together? Together they are hot and steamy, but can it be real?
This story was told in in dual point of views. It was a bit slow going in the beginning, but the overall story will pull you in. I look forward to seeing how this story ends in the next and final book. I already knew K.L. Kreig would be a must-read author for me going forward and this book only cemented that further for me.
