Just an Illusion - EP
D. Kelly

Just an Illusion – EP by D. Kelly is the final book in the Illusion series and it was a powerful and beautiful story of love and hope after unbearable loss.  It was emotional and heart-wrenching. This series must be read in release order to fully grasp the entire story.

The story picks up right where Side B ended. Utter devastation. The lives of the members of Bastards and Dangerous and their loved ones will never the be the same again. After months of happiness and joy of what is to come, their lives are shattered irrevocably. The devastation may be too much to bear.

Mel is falling into despair. Her family and friends are learning to cope with the loss they are facing, but through it all, they stand firm beside her. Never letting her go. Together they must learn to get through it, though some days are almost unbearable to live through.

The emotions evoked while reading this story will consume and wreck you. I wish I could fully share with you what I loved so much about this story, but pretty much anything I would tell you would be a spoiler. What I can tell you is the characters are flawed, but perfect for each other. Their strength, even while in the throes of despair will give you hope. I loved every high and every low. The love shared by every character is felt in their actions and words.

I have loved this entire series. It is a story of love, loss, and devastation, but also of hope and second chances. The conclusion will wreck you. I was shattered. But will also show you how powerful love, life and family can be. Just an Illusion – EP was a beautiful story of human nature and the powerful force we can be. Hope, love and second chances are always attainable. A must read.
