“Was he the man who was riding when you got injured, Low?” he questioned, and I internally groaned at his ironic choice in words.
The man who was riding? Good Lord, that sounded terrible. And a little too close to the actual scenario…
“No, sir,” Scott answered, and if the strain in his throat was any indication, he was one breath away from losing himself to laughter. “I was, in fact, not doing the riding when your daughter got injured.”
My father looked at me. “If he wasn’t the one riding, then how do you two know each other?”
Fucking fiddlesticks, I needed everyone to stop saying riding before I fainted from discomfort.
Dr. Er is fantastic! It's funny, sexy and smart. It's full of charm, dirty talk and witty banter. It will make you simultaneously hungry for pancakes and want to go to the club and bust a move
Scott Shepard loves his job as head of the ER. He's single, has a great job and all the ladies love him. He's basking in the notoriety that the hospital docuseries is bringing him and he's loving ever minute of it. I mean, this guy is living life! He's having a good time, embracing his new found fame and not taking any of it too seriously. I totally want to be him!!
Enter Harlow Paige, gossip columnist extraordinaire!! She's smart, independent and feisty. She doesn't hate her job, but it's not her dream. She's has great friends and a father she adores. But what she really wants is a one night stand. Someone that will take the edge off and go. Scratch the itch, if you know what I mean. When her one night of (hopeful) satisfaction lands her in the ER she comes face to face with no other than Dr ERotic himself.
I can't even with these two. I absolutely love Harlow and Scott together. Their dynamic is perfect. They had me laughing and swooning on every page. The back and forth banter is smooth and perfectly written. I fell so hard and fast for Scott Shepard that he may be my new favorite man.
There is a little drama but not too much. And the addition of the parents was almost too much to take, but in the best possible way. They stole a few scenes and gave the story another layer to love.
I've read every Max Monroe book and these two just get better and better. They write men you want to love and women you wish you were. If you haven't read their books yet now is the perfect time to start. Me? I can't wait to see what they come up with next. I am forever, irrevocably hooked on Max Monroe.
