The night Claudia walks into his bar, both his life and his perspective are forever changed. She’s feisty, strong, independent and everything he never knew he needed. She’s also everything he never knew he wanted, and now he’s torn.

Will Frank follow his heart, or will guilt and obligation continue to rule his life? Choices aren’t always easy, especially when you’re a man, and Frank’s indecision may cost him more than he’s willing to lose.

About the Author

I got fired from my last job.

It’s true.

I know you’re sitting there thinking, “Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone like you?” And I’d love to give you a good reason, but the truth is that sometimes being all sorts of awesome isn’t fun for other people. They don’t always tend to like it. lol

So I picked my pride off the floor, bought a laptop and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing stories that meant something to me was a million times better than working my ass off for someone who didn’t really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul has never felt more satisfied.

My heart has never been more full.

I’ve never worked so hard in my life, but I love every second of it. I truly do.

It is SO worth it.

All of it.

Every moment.

The journey it took to get to this point- I wouldn’t change a thing.

4.5 stars

I really enjoyed reading Guy Hater by J. Sterling. This book is part of a series, though I have not yet read the first book in the series, I did not feel lost. But I am definitely going back to read it now! I devoured this book! The feels! The angst!

Guy Hater is the story of the oldest Fisher brother, Frank. He is the quiet brother that generally keeps to himself and can be broody. Due to an injury in college, he gave up his dream of being an MLB player. Feeling like he lost everything he ever wanted, the only person that stood by him was his girlfriend Shelby. Due to obligations and promises he made, he has stayed in the now loveless relationship. He has no idea how to get out of it, but also does not want to take it to the next level.

Claudia is generally happy with her life. She enjoys her job, her roommate is her best friend and they live on the beach. What is not to love! Though the feeling of abandonment when her father left her mom and her and not having the best track record with relationships, she is open to explore the connection she feels when she meets Frank.

I loved Claudia and Frank. Though Frank was stuck in a loveless relationship, by getting his point of view as well, we understand how he ended up where he is today. Though he feels a strong connection to Claudia, he is a good guy. His feelings of obligation run deep. Claudia was feisty, strong, stubborn and just a fun-loving person. I loved her personality and openness.

Claudia and Frank meet at Sam’s, the bar run by the Fisher brothers that is gaining a lot of attention and clientele. Frank and Claudia hit it off right away and their chemistry is strong. But Frank has a secret and though he tries to keep things casual and friendly, the more time they spend together, the harder it is. Can Frank find a way to Claudia or will he stay with the woman he feels stuck by him through thick and thin?

This story is angst-filled, but so worth the read! I loved the relationship between the brothers and Claudia and Brittney. The story is fast-paced and will keep you captivated. There is so much more I want to say, but I do not want to spoil it for you. Just know this story is about two people who meet unexpectedly and the fireworks explode immediately.

I loved Guy Hater by J. Sterling. This story is sexy, sweet and angsty, but so worth the read! The characters are very likable, even with some of the circumstances they find themselves with and the story will pull you right in!
