I have read several of Leddy Harper’s books to date and have loved them all. She tends to write emotional, heartbreaking and angst-filled book, but in The Roommate ‘dis’Agreement she gives reader a new side to her. Here we find a bit more of the funny side of Leddy. Don’t get me wrong, this is still Leddy Harper, but I loved all the laugh out loud moments as well!
Cash is recently divorced and feeling lonely. He wants someone who can share his space with when he is home. So, he decides to get a roommate. Preferably a female roommate for companionship, but only as a platonic friend. He is definitely avoiding relationships at all costs after being hurt and betrayed. To ensure this, he has a few rules in place, so everything stays on the light side. Hence the ‘dis’agreement. I loved Cash. He was sweet, caring and a total overprotective alpha. You could not help but fall for him.
Jade is a single mother who needs a break. She has no home and wants more than her friend’s couch, but has a daughter to care for. I loved Jade as well. Though she has been through so much, she was sweet and strong, though she built walls around her heart to protect herself.
When Jade sees an ad for a roommate, it may just be the break she needs. What she did not expect was Cash. As soon as these two meet, their connection is explosive. As they become friends, you begin to see changes they try to deny. I loved the chemistry between them and their back-and-forth banter was hilarious. But can they find a way to let the other in before it’s too late?
I was pulled in to this story right from the beginning. I loved Cash and Jade and Jade’s daughter was adorable. And the way Cash was with her melted my heart. I absolutely loved this book. It was sweet and charming, but also emotional and captivating. Another great read from Leddy Harper!
