Home–in the island village of Cloud Bay–is where the heart is. . .

Leah Santelli always knew that Zach Harper, son of a rock legend and her best friend’s brother, was painfully out of reach. Then, on the night of her eighteenth birthday, Leah shocked herself by asking for–and receiving–the gift she wanted: one night of passion with Zach before he left town to pursue his rock star dreams. Now, years later, Zach is back in Cloud Bay to record his first solo album. His return could also be Leah’s big chance to step up her own music career. But getting the producing credit she needs means spending long hours with Zach in the recording studio…and falling back into the habit of longing for him, for better or worse.

Zach used to believe that a man must put his past behind him. But coming back home for Cloud Bay’s famed music festival has allowed him to finally make amends with his family and, much to his surprise, reunite with Leah. He might have left her once but now it seems he can’t stay away. Trouble is, even though the heat between them burns hotter than ever, Leah has old wounds in need of healing before she can give Zach a real chance. Can he find a way to convince her that they can make more than just great music together–and that she’s the one that he wants for all time?

No Place Like You by Emma Douglas is a slow burn second chance at romance story. It is the third book in the Cloud Bay series about siblings and friends centered around rockers.

Leah has always had feelings for Zach. They had one night when they were young and then Zach left to follow his dreams. Leah moved on and lived her life, but never forgot Zach. Now she is ready to move forward in her career and wants to become a music producer. But would producing Zach’s solo album be smart when she still has feelings for him?

Zach is the son of a famous (and deceased) rock star. His band is no longer together, and he is ready to move on with a solo career. He comes home to do this and is in search of help. But when an old friend with history offers to help, he brushes her off. He wants big names to launch his career. Zach initially comes off as a jerk and is not always easy to like, but as the story continues, we begin to see changes in him.

It has never been a secret how Leah felt about Zach and even though she knew he was leaving all those years ago, she wanted that one night with him. Even so, she was hurt when he left and never looked back. Now Leah and Zach are now working together. Can the find a way to find success despite their history?

This was my fist book in the series and though I have not read the others, I did not feel lost. There does seem to be interconnecting stories, family and friends, however, readers are left satisfied with the story. I enjoyed this second chance at romance story. It was a bit slower, but kept you intrigued enough to know how it all ends.
