Scoring the Quarterback by S.M. Soto

Series: San Diegan Series #2
Luke Caldwell has three abhorrent qualities to him:
and raised in Northern California where she currently resides with her son. Her
love for reading began when she was a young girl, and has only continued to
grow into adulthood. S.M. lives for reading books in the romance genre and
writing novels with relatable characters. She refers to herself as a bit of a
romance junkie. S.M. loves to connect with readers and eat copious of donuts
that will surely lead to her demise (carbs are life).

Scoring the Quarterback by S.M. Soto is a sexy slow burn romance about friends to lovers. I loved the banter between the characters and the chemistry. Though this is a second book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by this author and loved it and did not feel lost.
Luke Caldwell could be very arrogant, he is after all an amazing athlete with women falling at his feet, but he could also be so much more as well. Natalia was strong, feisty and did not let life take her down. I loved that about her. She did not let herself be swept away easily.
When Luke and Natalia meet they do not like each other, at first. Though Luke likes that Natalia does not fall at his feet, they are opposites. But you know what they say about opposites attracting! I loved seeing them become friends. You could feel the chemistry between these too! I laughed so much throughout their journey!
What I loved most about this book was how Luke and Natalia went from enemies of sort, to friends to more. It was a slow burn romance, but it felt real and honest. I fell in love with the characters and their story. There was some angst, but mostly this was a fun and sexy book. Loved it and cannot wait to read more from this author!
