from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a
necessity!), I have been writing since … forever? Yeah, that sounds about
right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see
shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m
clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.
more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I
do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the
year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a
curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t
understand me.
think that about sums me up.

This is the first of a brand spanking new duet by one of my all-time favorite authors and I’m so excited that I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to read and review this!
I am totally and completely in love with Church and he is definitely my overall favorite character that this author has ever created! He and Emma are perfect together and I love how from the moment they met she could understand him without him even having to speak a word. This is a kind of connection that doesn’t exist often, even in fictional love stories and I was happy to see this. My favorite line from this entire book was taken from Church’s point of view when he thought “For someone who hardly ever speaks to meet someone who can understand them without words? It’s like an answer to a prayer.”
Speaking of not speaking, I personally found myself loving the originality of having a main character that doesn’t say a whole lot of anything at all and the fact that he would only speak to Emma made what they shared even more special. These two burn so brightly together that the rest of the world around them fades into a gray and murky background and I literally couldn’t stop reading this! I was blown away by how this one left off and now I’m dying to get my hands on the next part of this story and it’s going to kill me to wait!
This is an insanely intense beginning to a very addictive new duet that I will definitely be devouring every single word of and I highly recommend everything written by this incredibly talented author!
