MVP by Laramie Briscoe

Release Date: August 3, 2018
I’ve got almost everything I need to have an amazing comeback year. My knee is
good, my dedication is there, my determination never left, but the woman of my
dreams? That’s still up in the air.
Malone Fulcher
Savage walked away without so much as listening to what I had to say.
We have a decision to make. Is it going to be marriage with late nights,
dinners at one am, and stealing moments between road trips? Or will it be
spending the rest of our lives alone, wondering why we couldn’t make it work?
Read the stunning conclusion to The MVP Duet.
When she’s not writing alpha males who seriously love their women, she loves spending time with friends, reading, and marathoning shows on her DVR. Married to her high school sweetheart, Laramie lives in Bowling Green, KY with her husband (the Travel Coordinator) and a sometimes crazy cat named Beau.

MVP, MVP duet #2, by Laramie Briscoe was a bit different than what I was expecting, in a totally good way. On the DL, book 1 in the duet, was a bit more of a slow burn second chance romance with light angst and an ending that will want to have you throwing your e-reader. While MVP was more of how do you build a foundation and a future with the person you love the most.
I do not want to give anything away, but this book started way differently than I expected. After the ending of the first book, I was left shocked. This book picks up not long after and even with the unexpected start, once you get into the story it all ties together. Slater and Malone have choices to make. Do they give in to what both want more than anything and put their fears aside or walk away and throw all they could have away?
What I loved about MVP the most is normally once you get the happily-ever-after, the story is done. In this book we get to see Slater and Malone fighting for what they want. Their journey may not always be easy and they do have obstacles they face, but it is how they face them that matters the most.
I loved how much Slater and Malone loved each other and were not afraid to show it. They wanted to ensure forever and fought hard to have it. MVP was a heartwarming read about fighting for love and future and again, loved seeing old friends.
