You might be wondering how you’ll know when your playboy ways are coming to an end. For some it might be an unexpected pregnancy (ahem… you know who), for others it might be finally landing the one woman you’ve always wanted (cough… I won’t mention any names). For me, it was the death of my mentor and the subsequent reading of their will.
The signs were there, they always are. But I didn’t notice them until it was too late, and my demise was complete.
Demise Sign #1– You find yourself thrust into the land of responsibility and you don’t immediately hightail it out of town.
Demise Sign #2– Despite being stuck with the world’s biggest Jekyll & Hyde, some sadistic part of you actually enjoys spending time with her.
Demise Sign #3– Your family suddenly stops wanting to weigh in on every decision in your life.
Demise Sign #4– Somehow you end up being the voice of reason in your tumultuous partnership.
Demise Sign #5 –You start thinking of other people before yourself.
Demise Sign #6– You agree to put yourself in the middle of an Alaskan reality TV show that has both of you sleeping in the same tent.

Demise Complete.

I love this series. I fell hard and fast for the Baileys in Lesson from a One-Night Stand and I haven't looked back. Each book ends the same way. I turn the last page and go into a state of anxious waiting that involves a lot of wine and even more cupcakes.

Denver Bailey has been a bit of a wild card and I was curious to see how his story would play out. I wish I could say that it was all I had hoped it would be, but I just didn't love this one. I never really felt much a of a connection between Cleo and Denver. The chemistry wasn't there for me and the story moved quickly leaving me feeling like something was missing. I can't really put my finger on it but I never had that I can't stop reading feeling.

DoaSCPB definitely has all the things that I love about this writing duo. There are tons of laughs gifted to us by way of clever and witty one liners. The side characters, especially the Bailey siblings, and the entire town of Lake Starlight were so much fun to visit with and always bring something special to each book. And last but not least, Buzz Wheel. I really hope one day we find out who is writing that thing. I'm betting a Bailey is responsible for that little gossip nugget that makes this series so much fun.

Time to open the wine while we wait for the next book in the series.
