“Hard Pass.”
That’s what the last girl I slept with said when she got her first sober glimpse of me. She laughed, walked out of my penthouse—and I never saw her again. It doesn’t matter that I’m a rich, professional athlete; what mattered was my face.

Beauty might only be skin deep for some—but I know better.

“Pay Up.”

That’s what the last girl I spoke to said over the phone when I made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. Desperate to sell a set of rare baseball cards, she’s clever and entertaining. I’m instantly smitten, but nowhere ready to reveal myself. Thank god she has no idea who I am—or what I look like.

I’m a professional athlete–how hard can playing the love game be?

HARD PASS
Sara Ney

Hard Pass is not your typical romance book. Sara Ney done something that I haven't seen before, and that uniqueness set this book apart from anything I have ever read. For the most part, this was a light-hearted read that dealt with self issues, but we will get into that soon. Noah and Miranda's story was not necessarily a fast paced read, but their storyline is one that occurs over a few days/weeks .I felt some development within their storyline, but not enough to make me absolutely love this one. The same goes for the depth. There was some, but for me not enough. There was great dialogue though. The oddity of the characters made for some great banter. Now the chemistry is definitely something I can get down with. It was HAWT! There was no shame in that game, which was super appealing.

Miranda. She was a spit fire that isn't afraid to go after what she wants. She's not shy. but she's not really outgoing either. She prefers sweets to jeans, home to outings. She is blunt and not afraid to say what;s on her mind.

Noah. I really wanted to love him, but he was my biggest issue. Yes he is shy. Yes he hates attention, and prefers silence, but he just didn't live up to what I needed him to be. He never took those chances to be a better him and that really bothered me.

Overall this was just an okay story to me. I will say I am not disappointed that I read it.
