I’m fucked.

The life I have lived for the past ten years is built solely on lies and secrets.

But I can’t help myself.

I’m in love with two different men. And one of them is my brother-in-law.

He’s my drug. My fire. My addiction.

But he’s married to my best friend. And I’m married to my husband.

I’m not ashamed. I have no guilt.

I’m not fucked. I’m a fucked up person.

This is the story of how I ruined my life.

And the life of the one I loved most.

Torrid Affair
Callie Anderson

First let me say, this was my first read by Callie. I can't lie, I was terrified going into this one. When there is a note from the author that says you will need liquor and tissues to get through don't take the warning lightly. This was one of the best, most emotional, captivating stories I have read in a while. In fact, I'm pretty sure when I look back over the year, Torrid Affair will stand out as my top read.

Now that that is out of the way. Torrid Affair is an amazing story, it does contain cheating though, so it definitely isn't for everyone. There were so many times I was so wrapped up in the story that I honestly forgot this was a story about an affair. Callie does an amazing job telling the story and bringing her characters to life. It was easy to fall in love with them and feel every emotion right along with my new fictional friends. The only down side to this book was that it is broken into three parts, the first being the past. This part was great, and it will fly by, but if you're anything like me you will want the past to hurry along so you can get to the current part of the story.

Overall, this was an amazing story, and if cheating is something you can handle in a book then you should definitely check this one out. Be warned though, I finished it a couple of days ago and I am still trying to get past the book hangover.
